Your Pre-Workout Knowledge Bomb: You're Thinking of Exercise and Weight Loss All Wrong!

So many have been there: you make a New Year's resolution to lose weight, and then you start exercising, and then… nothing happens. You're still the same weight as when you started. I hear this all the time!
It's easy to get discouraged at this point, and just give up on your resolution altogether. And who can blame you? It feels like exercise isn't doing anything for your weight loss goals, after all! But what if I told you that this is exactly how it works?
Exercise is not just about losing weight. In fact, even when it's not really helping weight loss, it's doing most of the things my patients want with their health:
Better energy
Longevity (live longer, happier, healthier)
Better mood
Leaner belly
Ability to keep up with kids/grandkids
Better sex, too!

Focus on non-scale victories like your waist circumference decreasing, better blood pressure, better mood/energy/sleep, etc... Not to mention, without exercise, weight loss from nutrition changes alone will likely come right back!
So don't give up on your exercise goals just yet (or next February!)—keep going!
Lastly, if you've "failed" diet and exercise for much of your life, come see us at MoKan Weight Loss and Metabolic Health for a consultation!
